James M LaVigne

July 12, 1903 - March 30, 1966

James M. LaVigne, was a resident of the Seattle area for the past 35 years. He died Wednesday, March 30th,1966 at the young age of 62, from a long battle with cancer. Mr. LaVigne was born in Unalaska, Alaska on July 12, 1903 to Mr. Louis LaVigne and Mary (Prokopioff) LaVigne, their only child.. He was a fox farmer and a commercial fisherman.He married Mary Zaharoff of Unalaska on October 2nd, 1926, at the age of 23 and fathered nine children with her.
After moving to Seattle he engaged in the construction industry and became a carpenter, with his love of the sea he also continued as a commercial fisherman in Alaska for many years .He will be remembered as a loving husband and father with a kind sole.
A private service will be held Saturday at 3pm at Acacia Funeral Home on Bothell Way.
